Québec is a city located within Quebec, Canada.


Small apartment buildings are the main housing type, representing about 40% of dwellings in Québec, while single detached homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. Around 30% of properties in this city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This city also has a good variety of housing size options; it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Québec is especially car friendly. The majority of houses for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute 573, and it is straightforward to park. However, this city is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from over 150 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. Even though Québec has a reasonably good bicycling infrastructure, and a few bike-friendly areas exist, it is sometimes challenging to move around by bicycle in this city since cyclists encounter quite a few hills. This city is also not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot since running daily errands is occasionally difficult.


Families will find that wherever their home is located in this city, primary schools are close by. However, high schools are not particularly abundant and consequently not always within walking distance. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. In terms of food, it is easy to get to the nearest supermarket by walking from anywhere in Québec. Residents are served by over 1500 restaurants and cafes as well.


People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Québec. There are over 450 parks close by for residents to visit, like Centre de plein air de Beauport and Parc Chauveau, resulting in them being easy to get to from most locations within Québec. Most areas in this city are quiet, as the streets are usually peaceful - although there are still several noisier areas, especially close to Autoroute Duplessis, Autoroute 573, one of the railway lines or the airport (YQB).
