Lifestyle

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extraordinarily good part of Pointe-Claire and Dollard-des-Ormeaux for travelling by car. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc. However, commuting by transit can be occasionally difficult in Fairview by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, there are about 20 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Fairview is not especially cycling-friendly as there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, the topography is reasonably flat, and some pleasant areas for cycling exist. Walking in Fairview is also not very popular, even though carrying out daily needs is convenient by walking.

Services

It is frequently feasible for property owners in Fairview to purchase groceries by walking. In addition, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small number of cafes can be found as well. It is also a rather short distance to a decent variety of clothing stores. When it comes to education, there are only a limited number of high schools in Fairview and therefore they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, Fairview does not have any primary schools. In addition, daycares are not particularly numerous and thus may require a long walk to get to.

Character

Fairview offers a wide selection of green spaces to enjoy. More specifically, there are approximately 20 parks nearby for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-spread out, which makes it easy to access them. Despite the abundance of public green spaces, there are few tree-lined streets. Due to the presence of few pedestrians, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet, although noise levels are higher closer to Autoroute Félix-Leclerc or the railway line.
