Thunder Bay is especially car friendly. Parking is generally easy. However, the public transit service in Thunder Bay is rather poor. Nonetheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Most homes for sale in this city are located in areas that are not very well-suited for walking since running common errands is inconvenient.

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in Thunder Bay and consequently they can be a rather long walk away. In addition, it can be challenging to reach daycares on foot. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools.
