However, public transit riders may find very limited choices in Mount Forest as a result of the low service level. This part of the city is not very conducive to those who travel by foot since almost no daily needs can be met without having to resort to a car.

Doing one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a vehicle in this part of Thunder Bay. With respect to education, there are only a few primary schools in Mount Forest and consequently they can be a long walk away. Likewise, this area does not have any high schools. Furthermore, daycares are not plentiful and consequently not always within walking distance.

The noise levels in Mount Forest are quite low, as the streets are reasonably tranquil.
