The car is usually the favoured way to navigate Vanier. Finding a parking spot is easy, and it is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 401, from anywhere in this area. In contrast, the public transit network in this part of Oshawa is not particularly practical. Thankfully, there are around 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Walking is not very popular in this part of Oshawa, even though carrying out daily needs is convenient.


Parents and their children will value that wherever their house is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools are nearby. In contrast, there are no high schools in Vanier. In terms of eating, the nearest supermarket in this area is generally only a rather short walk away. Additionally, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of choices, and house buyers benefit from around 10 cafes as well. It is also a reasonably short distance to a decent choice of clothing stores.
