Cars are a great mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. The majority of real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, and coming across a place to park is quite easy. However, this part of Clarington is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. It is impractical for pedestrians to move around in Newcastle as very few daily errands can be run on foot.

There are only a limited number of primary schools in this part of Clarington and accordingly they can be an extended walk away. Additionally, Newcastle does not contain any high schools. Furthermore, daycares are not numerous and thus tend to require a very long walk to get to. With regards to eating, a portion of house buyers in Newcastle may be able to purchase their groceries on foot, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. Residents are served by about 20 restaurants and cafes as well.

Newcastle is fairly good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to one of the railway lines or Highway 401.
