Whitby Estates is an extraordinarily good part of West Vancouver for driving. The majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of West Vancouver is quite bad. Whitby Estates is not very bicycling-friendly because there is a significant amount of hills, and the cycling network is not very extensive. Walking is also not very practical for house buyers in this part of the municipality since running common errands is challenging on foot.

Whitby Estates does not have any high schools or primary schools. When it comes to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to do groceries.

This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as the streets tend to be very peaceful.
