This area is an extraordinarily convenient part of Richmond for travelling by car. Nearby highways, such as Highway 91, are very easy to drive to from any home in East Cambie, and it is especially convenient to park. However, this area is not particularly transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are typically nearby. This neighbourhood is not very conducive to bicycling because bicycling is made arduous by the often hilly area, and the cycling infrastructure is quite poor. Most homes for sale in this part of Richmond are located in places that are also not particularly suitable for those who travel by foot since running common errands is sometimes difficult.


It is convenient to reach the closest supermarket by walking from most homes for sale in this part of the city. Furthermore, a restaurant is usually just around the corner, and a small selection of cafes can be found as well. With respect to education, in this part of the city, families will often be able to access both primary and secondary schools on foot. At the secondary level, there are both public and private schools. On the other hand, daycares are not especially abundant and accordingly may require a long walk to get to.


A highlight of East Cambie is its vast selection of green spaces. There are about 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover and they are very well-situated, making them very easy to reach from most locations in this area. Lastly, due to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city is relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 99, Highway 91 or the railway line.
